Fruit Loops Pop-Tarts
are actually excellent if you like that cereal, which I do or did as a kid.
Pop-Tarts ice cream is even better. Brown Sugar is better in ice cream than it
is on cereal. I also took advantage of ordering in (on my days off - I deserve
it) and got to try a couple dishes from this restaurant I’d been wanting to go
to - Pastrami on Wry’s BLT and strawberry cheesecake French toast. Tiramisu
Oreos are sweet but doesn’t evoke the same taste as the real thing (probably
because it’s missing that biting powder taste to it that goes straight up my
nose). Strawberry Shortcake Fudge Stripes were pretty good too. Apple Pie Kit
Kats are the best and taste just like the name suggests. Orange is okay, as
they taste like orange crème-filled chocolates but without the crème. The
Sakura Pocky I bought for my birthday is next. I also want to try cooking tofu
at least once if I can find a recipe I like. If I come out of this plague with
a skill I would like it to be that. I seriously have to keep reminding myself
that other people have it worse, like that nurse who got lynched or that
security guard who was shot. The way people treat me is just another day in
grocery retail, but it’s still awful. Not to be eco-fascist, but humans are a
blight on the world just for the way we treat each other, let alone what we do
to the planet.
The Fruits Basket
Season 2 opening theme Prism is a great piece, even if the opening itself is
kind of boring with just the characters’ walk cycles. I especially like the
higher-pitched piano sequence. One more reason I can’t wait until the
quarantine ends is that I want the Simuldub to catch up. Laura’s voice as Tohru
going through the haunted house especially, not to mention her questioning
Arisa’s description of her and Kureno as scatterbrained and clumsy. Casting
Monica Rial as Mine in Fruits Basket brought the casting full circle – Vegeta
as Ayame, Future Trunks as Yuki, [former] Kid Trunks as Tohru, and now Bulma as
Mine. Also, after having Tara Strong and Andrea Libman appear in an episode as
murderous kelpies, DuckTales recently had Hynden Walsh and Greg Cipes in an
episode as hippie merpeople. Loved the Daisy and Donald moment in the next
episode as well as the Nate and Zoey moment in the midseason finale of Beast
Morphers.
I’ve read the Wikipedia
entry for Justice League Dark: Apokalips War as well as seen a couple clips.
Based on that, I think it’s better than Injustice. It’s all undone at the end,
though, as the timeline was erased in another Flashpoint event (too bad Flash
had to break his promise). I appreciate Damian’s character growth and approve
of this version of him with this version of Raven. But does this mean the
comics universe is being rebooted again like the first Flashpoint Paradox? Is
there another new 52 I should be concerned about?
