Wasn't Worth It

I had to delete two more videos due to copyright, whittling my channel down to 70 videos. I’m going to try to make two more videos for KH3/Re:Mind in the next couple of months, but I’m not sure how successful those will be due to finding non-copyrighted versions of the songs I want to use (so get used to piano tutorials, I guess). I’ve lost a little enthusiasm for one of them, seeing as how Saix is the one who wanted to atone, not Xigbar. I was going to set his fight to “Other Friends,” as he’s fighting Axel and his other friends, but his jealousy is no longer as sharp as Spinel’s since he was trying to jog Xion’s memory by using Axel and Roxas’ names on purpose. The other one is “Home,” but that could be used for Kingdom Hearts or Fruits Basket, which I will be working on later after season 2 is out.

Unfortunately, I’m going to be really busy this month due to adulting (the worst of which is going to be jury selection, which always feels like I’m the one on trial/going to jail). Work is awful, as I’m being punished for my coworkers’ shortcomings (i.e. not trying or coming in at all). I’m drowning in medical bills because I don’t understand my deductible, so universal health care can’t come soon enough. I’ve been trying to get caught up on everything that I watch, but it’s been very difficult. Trying to clear the backlog of shows has become a chore, and I can’t get as much enjoyment out of much of it. That goes double for Kingdom Hearts Re:Mind; it did not deliver on its promises (at least, not in a complete and meaningful way) and was mostly repetitive. The limit cut episode was way too short - a year later in real life and in the game and still no one knows what the fuck is going on. Maybe we’ll get closure someday when they start the new saga, but I doubt it. It turns out Demyx wasn’t done only meant that he had to deliver the second replica to Radiant Garden; he’s still a big mystery that the Organization didn’t even want in the first place – he didn’t even get a silhouette in their plans. The scenes we did get could’ve and should’ve been fleshed out a lot more, and I suspect the novels aren’t going to do that either.

The actor who replaced Leonard Nimoy died and was replaced by Christopher Lloyd, so that was distracting. I’m also disappointed that Mae Whitman replaced Christy Carlson Romano as Yuffie, as brief as it was. I don’t think Yuffie was in Disc 1 of Final Fantasy VII, so she’s not going to be in the remake, either. Additionally, it looks like volume 2 of KH3 will be released July 21 according to Amazon, though the publisher listed Re:Coded in its place on its website by mistake.

I also recently watched all the DLC supports for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Yuri being Bernadetta’s friend is great and all, but don’t make her father look like a decent person. He still kept her tied up, and him being put under house arrest was supposed to be karmic justice. Yuri and either Ingrid or Dorothea were cuter supports. I hope Claude’s voice actor plays the DLC soon. I want to see his reaction to Claude and Balthus’ support, assuming he doesn’t remember anything from recording it. Seriously, ew! Someone needs to give Constance a parasol; she’s not as bad as Dimitri post-time skip, but still. Those two even look similar. I like Hapi, but for some reason I want to call her Hopi.

Power Rangers Beast Morphers is not fooling anyone. Why bother obscuring the fact that Devon’s dad is possessed by Evox when it’s already blindingly obvious to the viewers? At first, I didn’t know what had happened to him at the end of last season, but from the first episode of this season, it was clear that he got Metagog’d. The actors playing Blaze and Roxy have to do double duty as the normal, nice humans and the evil android avatar versions of them.

Trust Love?

Eggo Waffles cereal is a fair substitute for Waffle Crisp. Where the latter was square-shaped and heavily tasted like syrup, Eggos taste somewhat like syrup but with a strong Eggo finish. I have not and do not intend to try the blueberry variety. Maybe if they do a strawberry, but chocolate chip would just be Cookie Crisp. Brad calls these Frankenstein cereals. Of Twinkie cereal, he said, “Of course it’s good.”

RWBY didn’t quite turn out the way anybody expected. The volume ended with Salem entering Atlas on a giant whale Grimm (because Monstro to Pietro and Penny’s Gepetto and Pinocchio) while Pietro and Maria helped RWBY and JNPR (with the P now standing for Penny instead of Oscar Pine) escape Atlas as wanted criminals, leaving Oscar and Qrow behind to face judgment. Ironwood fucking shot Oscar, who would’ve died if not for Ozpin reactivating. Penny became the Winter Maiden instead of Winter because of circumstances, so Ironwood and Cinder were both screaming about that. Ren needs to get a handle on his emotions, which is weird to say about him but that was his arc this season which didn’t get closure. Nora’s voice actress said there’d be backstory on her, but we never got it. I guess they ran out of time, but whatever it is is known to her to inform her performance.

Bojack was even worse. I’m fine with him going to jail after almost dying; it would’ve been anti-climactic to end with him dying and taking the easy way out. That Xerox thing did him dirty; he shouldn’t have had to lose his house and involve the new family living in it when he went on a bender and drowned himself in the pool. If anything, he should’ve set Angela Diaz’s house on fire after she revealed she’d been bluffing about firing Bojack alongside Herb. Although Bojack does shitty things, there are even shittier people like her around who should share in the blame.

Speaking of Bojack, Team Four Star isn’t doing that movie or the Buu saga. They might be doing shorts instead, but otherwise, DBZA is over. Critical Recap is gone, which is too bad because I’m falling behind again and don’t have time for Talks Machina. Instead, Handbooker Helper came back, which is cool.

With Raven’s forehead gem, it’s hard to resist writing her like a half-gem half-organic like Steven Universe. I’ve recently been working on a series of scenes in which Zexion chooses to stay with the Titans (rather than be killed by Riku or, in the post-KHIII rewrites, die helping Ansem dismantle the Kingdom Hearts moon). As such, I have to re-examine old episodes of the show (I know I’ve probably done some things out of order, but they’re largely one-offs that don’t depend on continuity to make sense). I haven’t gotten to Re:Mind yet since it hasn’t come out on Xbox yet, but soon. I do know the Yozora twist from watching HMK’s videos, and I don’t care. We don’t even find out Luxord’s real name, but him being part of VS-XIII explains why he’s Nomura’s favorite. His role in XV is Cor, voiced by Matthew Mercer (who voices Ira in Back Cover; Noctis and the Master of Masters have the same voice actor as well).

Rebranding

I tried the cookies and cream Twix, and I liked it better than the Oreo version. I noticed there were more brand crossover cereals, such as Twinkies, Drumstick ice cream, and Hershey Kisses, but I’m not interested in trying any of them. I did get the mint chocolate Twinkies for the holidays, which are very good, but they also just made me want to get regular Twinkies, so I did. We’ll see what Brad thinks. Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Lay’s chips are rarely seen, but I did manage to find some, and they were pretty good.

I saw a video that was a camera mod of Radiant Garden from KH3. It pretty much proves it was not meant to be playable, but the modder did add commands like “The gate is closed. You’ll have to find another way around” and such. I don’t think I noticed this before, but there is one door that has a smaller door within it. The only other time I’ve seen that is at Chiyo-chan’s house in Azumanga Daioh. Looks like that’s how Ienzo kept getting out of the castle in Birth By Sleep, though if I had to guess, I’d say that Ansem got more use out of it as a child. I can’t tell if there was an ocean around the outskirts of the world (since that did seem to be the horizon) or just the negative space in the programming. It would make sense for all the worlds to be connected by ocean. That new book coming out in Japan with the character files has me intrigued as well. If Xigbar’s entry is any indication, it was done in a sort of interview style with the characters addressing the reader with whatever they want to say. But that’s up to Nomura or whoever writes for the characters how much information they want to reveal. They could provide some interesting insights or say a whole lot of nothing. Looking forward to more translations or perhaps an official release in the west.

I fixed and re-uploaded the comic dub videos and the stingers videos that I’d decided to take down. I took out the “Cat’s in the Cradle” stinger and re-uploaded “Tea and Trepak.” I changed the music and title of “Let’s Count to XIII” (definitely not a video for kids but YouTube bots are dumb), though my first attempt still got flagged even though I used a background track from my Windows 10 software. I tried uploading to my Facebook page, but the copyright claims muted them there too. I had gotten rid of my Dailymotion account a long time ago, but now I can’t even get that website to load, and that’s where I watch Blockbuster Buster. I also have to remake some of my brother’s videos since he decided he wanted to take all of them down but then forgot that he’d lost some of the original files when his old computer died. So that’s gonna be some work. I’m also trying to come up with a couple new music video ideas concerning RWBY and Kingdom Hearts or redoing old videos.
