Hollywood East and D2 Brigade

Whatever Happened to Hollywood East?
www.hollywoodeasttv.com! In a nutshell, Plymouth Rock Studios is a company in Massachusetts that wanted to build a new facility that was to become Hollywood East. I followed their vlogs two years ago as they posted news on their progress, and all was going fine until the economic recession. That's when they stopped posting vlogs and I stopped hearing about them. The web site's still up and they're still posting news blogs, but it isn't the same as it used to be. They've long since stopped adding videos to their YouTube channel, and to see any of their web site's content past the home page you have to become a member of the site. I'm just not willing to bother, even though I'm curious.
Neil Cicierega, Kevin James, and Ryan Murphy had been hired by Plymouth Rock Studios not long after Neil won one of the first-ever YouTube awards for his Potter Puppet Pals videos. He and his friends are also famous for their film "No Place Like Home" and the band Lemon Demon (one of their most popular songs, "Ultimate Showdown," made it into a Rock Band video game). In addition to the company's vlogs when appropriate, they also appeared in their own show there called "New Kids on the Rock." It and their personal channels are no longer featured on the main page, so I wonder what happened. Hopefully they still have jobs. They sometimes still post videos to their YouTube channels.

The DesuDes Brigade was the group of reviewers JesuOtaku belonged to before joining TGWTG full time. While the Nostalgia Critic has made a comeback as Nostalgia Critic Reloaded, these guys are never coming back, even on their own time. While some have even deleted all record of themselves and their videos, here are a few things I remember them for.
7. Tuxedo Ark. This was his costume for the anime awards they ran yearly in their cartoon forms. It only lasted a couple of years. Tristan (Arkada) Gallant may or may not actually have this costume in real life.
6. Calling Prof old every chance they got. This may not have been nice, but it was a recurring joke and hey, I like the Samurai Pizza Cats too.
5. Tsubake's ill-fated romance with a Wal-Mart self-checkout machine. In cartoon form, Malakye built a murderous robot vocaloid named Tsubake who looked down on mankind...but her trip to Wal-Mart may have scarred her for life. I didn't care for her much but this video was good.
4. Convention vids with the new members. Three of the guys and three of the girls went and did convention videos that were almost completely identical (because Vixen's group saw what the guys did first and copied them). Many a MLP line was quoted, including "YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE ME!" as the three new members (Hitch, Kagami, and Rabbit) were introduced to the audience.
3. Professor Otaku's Shojo Month. After a month of watching and reviewing anime meant for women, Prof turns into a woman himself. The character was later made her own to assist Prof and was voiced by someone else.
2. Arkada reads the Yotsuba&! manga. It's as good an argument as any to read the series. Unfortunately he did not make any more manga videos after this even though the video was popular. He's not the only one to discontinue a good idea, though.
1. Vixen's two-part Little Mermaid review. Dressed as Ursula, Vixen reviews both the Disney and Broadway versions. At the end of part 1, JO asks her to help her do her taxes. Vixen has her sign a contract, which puts her soul into a Christmas tree in part 2. Prof tries to save her by offering to give up the rights to the D2Brigade web site to Vixen, who goes power mad for a few musical minutes before Malakye pipes up and reminds them all who's really in charge of the site - him.
