Top Picks: Soul Eater NOT! vol 1, Ultra Maniac vol 2, Yotsuba&! vol 2, Fruits Basket vol 2 & vol 15
Almost: Ultra Maniac vol 1 (great start, crazy magic), Yotsuba&! vol 3 (for the 4-leaf clover story thread), Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories (despite minor flaws)

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is done and just kept getting weirder and more off-track (although they followed the official cutscenes to the letter...well, almost). KH2 manga still ongoing (and still nucking futs), but BBS and Coded haven't gotten one yet. I wouldn't care for Coded but BBS would be adorable. Also following Yotsuba&! and Soul Eater NOT! (despite too much female nudity in vol 2 as well as in the regular Soul Eater manga), plus a couple others even though I've seen the anime already (Ookami-san and Her Seven Companions and Spice and Wolf).
Completionists must love torturing themselves because I hate Soul Eater NOT! vol 2. Not only was the female nudity an issue in the beginning, but they may or may not have killed off "Eternal Feather" at the end. It's hinted that Stein may or may not be able to bring her back as a zombie, but the way the girls are being interviewed about her state of mind makes me doubt that suicide victims - even those under mind control - might not be able to be revived. Even the author in his added segment just seems to dismiss her - "no one cares about the megane characters." I hate you so much, Ohkubo. Way to make me feel sorry for her and have it all be for nothing and then tease the fact that Stein is in the next volume but "Eternal Feather" or whatever her real name is probably won't be (don't cry, I would have bought some of your unwanted clothes - and stay away from Medusa's sister and her deadly scorpion jewelry!). I guess she's just destined to become the school's very own Moaning Myrtle, except not a ghost. It's too bad. Not only is it a waste of a character, but if brought back as a zombie she could have told them about the woman with the scorpion jewelry and they could finally track down Shaula Gorgon (though they totally suck at detecting Medusa, but since this is a prequel series that's not going to happen and I am curious to see what if anything Medusa does in this series given that Shaula's supposed to be her sister).
I've been watching the Soul Eater Not! anime as it's become available on Funimation's site. It follows the manga pretty closely so far, but I can't help but point out the differences to myself while I'm watching. The scanlation site I'm subscribed to has started releasing one chapter a week since the anime has come out, so we're somewhere in volume three. I'm glad they didn't kill off Eternal Feather; she didn't even have to become a zombie. The rest has just been shenanigans with little bearing on the plot.
The same week Soul Eater Not! ended, Sailor Moon Crystal started. I'm absolutely giddy and fangirling out. Ami even appeared in the first episode! I can't wait for both series to be dubbed.

Update: So stoked from watching Sailor Moon Crystal episode 2! They used their transformation pens as pens! That's actually cool. But Ami does have adult friends, doesn't she? It's not like she was entirely without a friend in the world. Liked seeing the Girl with the Red Shoes statue in episode 1. She had a scene there with Mamoru in the original series but it was later on in season three I think.
