The way fanfiction.net has been acting (either stringent or buggy), I didn't want to chance anything happening and letting this person down again (well technically it's Nickelodeon's fault, not mine). This seems like a safe place as far as I know, so let's get posting.
This is a Samurai Pizza Cats fan fic, but having watched the Japanese version Kyatto Ninden Teyandee recently, I've written it in those terms. Glossary's in the beginning for those who don't know. Enjoy.

Mt. Horror had been dormant, or so the citizens of Edoropolis thought. The earthquakes Gennari had stirred up weeks before had triggered a delayed reaction. Yattaro was on his way back from making a delivery when suddenly the earth started shaking again. He took cover under a nearby storefront doorway until it stopped. "Shocking!" he exclaimed. As he made his way back, he helped as many people as he could out of the fallen debris.
At the restaurant, the customers took cover under the tables while Pururun, Otama-chan, and Sukashi hid behind the counter. Across the street, Okara and Karamaru did the same. "I thought Lord Ko'on and the others had fled," Okara said, clinging to Karamaru.
"They did," Karamaru replied. "There must be something wrong with the fault lines that run near Mt. Horror."
"I'd better call in the cavalry to check it out," Otama-chan said nervously, as people outside were panicking and seeking refuge in the two restaurants. "This is a job for the rescue team." Gotton, Mietoru, Nekkii, and Rikinoshin all responded and agreed to help. "Be careful," Otama-chan warned them.
"No sweat, kitten. Be there in a flash," Gotton said, flexing as usual.
Yattaro arrived just as an aftershock hit; panicking, he leapt up and clung to the rafters. "Yattaro, quit fooling around!" Pururun shouted.
"You know I don't do well under these conditions!" he shouted back.
Pururun picked up a broom to try to pry him off. "This is serious! A natural disaster could flatten Edoropolis!"
"And we're still rebuilding from the last one," Sukashi added, referring to Omi-chan's missile leveling the city after Yattaro had saved it from the comet.
"I know!" Yattaro jumped down just as Karamaru entered the doorway, landing on him.
"What's the big idea?!" Karamaru exclaimed, shoving him.
"Heh. Sorry about that."
"Anyway, I wanted to help investigate the source of the tremors, but I don't want to leave Okara."
"Mietoru is scoping things out from the sky while Gotton is investigating the underground tunnels," Otama-chan informed him.
While the two of them did that, Rikinoshin fired rockets at the pumice spewing from the volcano while Nekkii sprayed cold water on the lava floes that were leaking out of it and bubbling up from below. Soon, however, they had trouble keeping up; Gotton had to evacuate to the surface after a close call with crumbling earth and encroaching lava, and Mietoru's view was obscured by the smoke and he was knocked down by flying rocks and Rikinoshin's projectiles. "Boss, I'm hit!" he reported in.
"To the cannon!" Otama-chan announced before switching on the intercom. "Please excuse us for the noise. Our special Pizza Cats express delivery is about to be launched. For your own safety, please stay behind the white line. Here we go!"
With Otama-chan at the controls, Yattaro, Pururun, and Sukashi shot out of the cannon and flew toward Mt. Horror. Nearby, the usual mother and son were watching the skies. "Look, son, the Pizza Cats are flying again today," the mother said.
"Who cares? This episode won't air because of the ongoing natural disaster," the son replied.
"You watch too much television anyway."
As they approached, Yattaro's sword Masamasa activated the Nyagosphynx, which spat out the Toritsukun to become their armor and protect them from the heat and debris. "Evil has never propspered throughout history. I'll show you what is right with the mind of justice!" Yattaro declared.
"Yattaro..." Pururun groaned.
"You realize you're talking to a volcano, right?" Sukashi added.
"I know! I just never get to say it anymore," Yattaro complained.
The three of them checked on the Rescue Team, who seemed no more worse for wear. "Go protect the city. We'll see what we can do from here," Pururun said.
"With all the underground tunnels we've dug over the years, the earth may be unstable near the fault lines," Gotton explained.
"Wanko should have a geological map. Find the weak points and evacuate them!" Yattaro ordered. The four of them retreated to Edo Castle to report to General Wanko.
"What are we supposed to do in the meantime?" Sukashi asked.
Suddenly, the the ground shook and more lava spewed out of the hole that had been carved out of the side to release the gas pressure. "We'll have to try and hold it off!" Pururun shouted.
"With what, though?" As soon as Yattaro had asked, the hilt of his sword glowed again, summoning Nyagosphynx in battle mode, the Nyagoking. "It survived the brush with the comet and spat out Karamaru and me on its way back," Yattaro explained. "It can take the heat!"
Nyagoking teleported them into its cockpit, and the three of them took action. Yattaro programmed the robot to use his Cat's Eye Slash to cut down trees in the surrounding area to try to slow down the lava flow. They used their other techniques in between to pulverize the rocks and debris headed their way as well.
Back in the city, Wanko informed the Rescue Team that the fault line ran in the middle of downtown where the main restaurant was located. "Such poor planning," Rikinoshin muttered to himself.
"At least ours are relatively safe, right?" Nekkii said, trying to look on the bright side, even though it came off like sour grapes.
"If we don't work to minimize the damage, none of us is safe," Wanko pointed out. "We may have to pack up and move like Ko'on did."
"We shouldn't have to relocate! It should!" the princess screeched. "Send Mt. Horror to Prisoner Island!"
No one was listening to her, but things weren't going much better at the fault line. "I've heard that these types of phenomena require a maiden sacrifice," someone suggested.
"In that case, it should be Omitsu!" someone else chimed in.
As members of the mob turned on her, Omi-chan screamed and launched more of her rockets. The mob dispersed, either chased by rockets or fleeing the shaky ground now being blown open by stray missiles. "Omi-chan, stop! You're making it worse!" Otama-chan called out, running out of the restaurant to try to calm her down.
Unfortunately, Omi-chan was standing in the middle of the street directly over the fault line, which suddenly opened up beneath her. Otama-chan leaped forward onto the ground and grabbed onto her hand as she went down. "Otama-chan, I'm slipping!" Omi-chan cried.
"Just hold on!" Otama-chan yelled. Then the ground crumbled away and they both fell into the chasm.
The Rescue Team arrived just moments too late. "Is everyone all right?" Rikinoshin asked. "You all need to clear out of here now!"
"Omitsu and Otama fell in there!" Okara informed them.
"I'll dig them out right away!" Without another word, Gotton drilled into the already unstable ground.
"My wings are busted, so I can't fly down there," Mietoru said regretfully.
"But mine aren't. I'll go and help," Karamaru volunteered. "You evacuate with the others, Okara."
"Karamaru, be careful!" Okara warned him, kissing him before leaving with the others.
Back at Mt. Horror, the trees were beginning to give way. "The molten lava is eating through everything we put in its path," Yattaro complained.
"If we don't do something, we could be next!" Pururun exclaimed.
"That may be the only thing we can do," Sukashi said solemnly.
Pururun looked devastated. "Y-you mean...?"
"No!" Yattaro angrily refused. "Nyagoking saved my life from that comet, and I'm not just going to abandon it to the lava!"
"Do you have any better ideas?" Sukashi asked pointedly. "It's getting closer!"
Yattaro gritted his teeth and rang the bell around his neck for help.
Down in the crack in the earth, the bell around Otama-chan's neck rang in response to Yattaro's. It roused her from unconsciousness and alerted Gotton and Karamaru to her and Omi-chan's location. "Yattaro and the others..." Otama-chan murmured when they arrived.
"You're more important right now," Gotton said urgently.
Suddenly the tunnel Gotton had dug caved in. "Do you have a backup plan?" Karamaru asked. "I don't think the earth can withstand another tunnel."
Gotton took out a rope. "With your assistance."
Karamaru flew up to the surface with the unconscious Omi-chan. Then he lowered the rope for Gotton and Otama-chan to climb up. Then the four of them headed to the nearest shelter. Mietoru and Okara helped direct the citizens of Edoropolis into shelters while Rikinoshin and Nekkii used a variation of their combo attack to put out the fires that had broken out around the city.
Yattaro yelled in frustration, "No one's coming!"
"Yattaro, the lava is going to turn Nyagoking into a statue with us inside it if we don't flee," Pururun said gently.
"You two can leave! I'm going down with the ship!" Yattaro shouted firmly.
"You're not doing this to us again, Yattaro!" Sukashi shouted back, trying to talk some sense into him.
"You don't understand! Nyagoking is one of us!"
"Everyone in Edoropolis is counting on us. If we take off with Nyagoking, there won't be anything else between the lava and the city."
"Yeah, but-"
Pururun had had enough. She knocked Yattaro unconscious by punching him in the back of the neck. "Let's go, Sukashi!" The two supported their unconscious leader as they jettisoned themselves from the combat mech. They flew toward the city without looking back.
Days later, when the tremors had ceased and life had returned to normal, the cats returned to the spot where they had left Nyagoking. Yattaro had refused to speak to any of them and would not bring himself to look upon the molten rock.
"It's gone!" Pururun exclaimed.
"Yeah, no thanks to you," Yattaro grumbled bitterly.
"No, Yattaro. It's not there anymore. Look!" Sukashi urged.
Yattaro opened his eyes and saw a giant hole in the mound of rock where Nyagoking had been when they'd left. He checked his sword, but the jewel on its hilt had not gone dark. "But how?"
They heard a bird call and looked up. The cure-all bird was circling overhead, having been able to reclaim Mt. Horror as its home. "You don't suppose..." Pururun began to suggest.
Yattaro wiped his eyes. "It's another beautiful day in Edoropolis."
