Due to other web sites shutting down or else failing me for the last time, I have finally stumbled into Blogspot or Blogger. What's one more Google account, am I right?? As such, I will be updating this space with old blogs from Quizilla (thanks for nothing, Nickelodeon) and possibly some fan fic vignettes if fanfiction.net continues being dubious. I guess this means I'll lose all my quizzes but those haven't mattered to me for some time now. Everything else I had was backed up, so good for me. At least tv.com had been nice enough to send me a save file of all my blogs when they shut down. So I'll start this off with the last post I made to Quizilla which will only be visible there for the next couple weeks.
A while ago I went on a rant about how I thought it was inappropriate that Even told Ven about Ienzo not having parents, and Ven was kind of blase/dense about it. I'm not going to talk about that again, but I do have a different idea that could have been. Had Dilan and Aeleus taken off to fight the Unversed, they could have found Ienzo a lot sooner and saved him themselves. Here's how I think it would've gone down:
"Ienzo!" Aeleus shouted upon seeing him.
"Get away from them!" Dilan yelled. Ienzo backed off and the two made short work of the Unversed that had surrounded him.
"Thank goodness you're unhurt," Aeleus said, picking the boy up.
"What were you doing outside during a monster alert?" Dilan chastized. "Was no one keeping an eye on you?" Ienzo looked sad in response.
"I'll take you back to your room," Aeleus volunteered. Ienzo shook his head and clung to him. "You don't want to?"
"You can't stay out here with us. It's much too dangerous," Dilan advised.
"What is going on? Why aren't you two guarding the gate?" Even asked, annoyed that he had to hunt them down.
"Why weren't you looking after Ienzo?" Aeleus asked pointedly. "He was almost attacked."
Even grimaced. "I was performing a potentially hazardous experiment." He then addressed Ienzo. "Young man, I did not give you permission to leave the castle. We will have to have a serious talk with His Lordship, but first he wants to speak to all of us in his office right away."
Ienzo didn't know what all the fuss was about; he was fine. Still, Aeleus didn't put him back down until they were in Ansem's office. "It has been brought to my attention that our methods of testing have been unethical," Ansem announced. "Therefore, we must stop our current research on hearts immediately."
"How shall we proceed, then?" Even asked.
"For now, it is best that we forget the subject entirely. Where is Braig?"
"We haven't seen him since earlier this morning when he first set out on patrol," Dilan replied.
"Very well. To your posts."
The two guards left; Ienzo tried to leave with them but Even stopped him. "You're not going anywhere," he warned him before addressing Ansem. "Lord Ansem, Ienzo continues to disobey me by wandering off on his own. I seek your guidance to discipline him."
Ienzo looked at Ansem sheepishly, but before anyone could say another word, Dilan returned with a badly injured Braig. "Even, help me with him!" Dilan pleaded.
"Good heavens!" Even exclaimed, rushing to their side. "Did a monster do this?"
"He won't say. Aeleus went to investigate."
"The dangers of going off on one's own," Ansem remarked to Ienzo after they had gone. "Try to listen to Even from now on. I know you are lonely, so why not keep me company instead?" Ienzo nodded, having been properly terrified by what had happened to Braig. Because of that, Ansem didn't want to punish him, just keep him out of trouble and make him feel wanted.
Additionally, if Zexion had gone second out of the basement team and returned to Lexaeus the way he had, that would have made for an interesting scene between the two of them.
Also, what was with that Onsen cutscene in Xillia 2? I get that they prevented the guys from perving on the girls for once, but Teepo didn't have to eat them in order to accomplish that. Now they can't even enjoy the hotspring itself and are probably dying from being digested. Some reward; the only ones who were gong to be perverts were Alvin and Rowen, and maybe Jude by association, so why punish Ludger and Gaius too? Vesperia's still my favorite in this regard as well.
